Our Packaging Test Standards
Every damaged shipment costs you twice: once for the replacement, and again when the customer does not reorder. Our package testing services recreate the drops, vibration, stacking loads, and climate swings of real distribution, so the weak point shows up in the lab instead of on a doorstep.
Our package testing capabilities include:
- ISTA package testing: Series 1, 2, 3, and 6 procedures, including Amazon SIOC, FedEx, and Sam’s Club protocols
- ASTM D4169 and D7386 testing for full distribution cycles and single parcel delivery
- ASTM vibration testing to D999, D3580, and D4728, random or sinusoidal profiles
- Environmental package testing: temperature and humidity conditioning, altitude, and accelerated aging to ASTM F1980
- Drop, concentrated impact, and compression testing that mimic manual handling and warehouse stacking
We run to the packaging test standards your customers and carriers already reference, including ASTM procedures and ISTA test series. Shipping a government contract instead of a retail order? ASTM D4169 covers non-commercial government shipments per MIL-STD-2073 too.
We are Your Reliable Package Testing Lab
A pass stamp tells you little when the next truckload arrives crushed. At DES you work directly with the engineer running your package tests, and the acceptance criteria is determined before the first drop: product damage-free, package intact, or both.
Samples can be conditioned to ASTM D4332 before testing begins. Every program ends with a written report covering the results of each step, so you know exactly which hazard did the damage.
Ship your packaged product to our Easton lab from anywhere in the country. Twenty years of package testing has shown that the value sits in knowing how much margin your package has left. Contact us today!

Send us your product, packaging details, and target specification, and we will tell you exactly how the test will run: which ISTA or ASTM procedure applies, how samples get conditioned, how long the sequence takes, and what data you get back. Our engineers can write the test plan, build the fixtures, and walk you through the results. Contact DES today for a free package testing estimate.
